Where We Get Involved:

Mission of Involvement:
We are a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to the community of Northeast Louisiana, serving children and adults with developmental disabilities and children in need.

Ark-La-Miss Fair and Livestock Show:
The Fair is the major fundraising project of the West Monroe Civitan Club. The proceeds from this annual event provide the financial means for the West Monroe Civitan Club to carry out its mission by helping the citizens of Northeast Louisiana.

Boys and Girls Club of NELA:
West Monroe Civitan plays a significant role with the Boys and Girls Club of NELA. They make substantial monetary contributions, as well as volunteering and participating on a regular basis.

Youth Leadership Conference:
This an annual event for Juniors and Seniors in High school held at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. The Seminar is a 4 day event that educates students on Leadership and Citizenship through discussion of relevant issues of basic political and economic life with a major emphasis on personal growth and development as a community leader.

Heart Gallery:
The goal of the Heart Gallery is to elicit support for and interest in the lives of these children - and ultimately find each child and sibling group a "forever family." Many of the foster children featured in the gallery are older or are special needs children, minorities, or members of a sibling group. All are considered hard-to-place children. We plan to keep the Heart Gallery moving until all of the children are placed in a safe and permanent home!

Shelby's Wish:
Shelby's wish is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the quality of life for hospitalized children and their families by offering healing happiness and hope. Through providing emotional and spiritual support, gifts of encouragement and enhancing the hospital environment, Shelby's Wish will brighten the child's world and bring some peace and comfort to the family.

ARCO envisions a place for each of our citizens where the community provides for all, including those with disabilities. Seeking to empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to have quality lives through instruction, support, and opportunity, ARCO proclaims the tenets that all persons are of equal value, all persons have the same basic needs, and all persons learn in uniquely different ways.

Special Olympics:
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

MedCamps of Louisiana:
